It's been an interesting first week in Holland. I have somehow managed to set our stovetop on fire in our serviced apartment that Paul had to extinguish, put our dirty washing and detergent (and paid my 3 euros) in the dryer instead of the washing machine, and given Paul a nervous breakdown as I drove a manual car (I'm an auto driver) on the right side of the road!! Oh yeah, there's one more thing, I bought a carton of sour milk instead of regular milk, not quite the same when you're having cereal for brekky. But hey, everything's in dutch over here, and really, why would you sell sour milk at the supermarket?
We have been trying to immerse ourselves into the dutch life (perhaps an Aussie take on it, anyway) and so yes, we have a jar of pickled herring in the fridge, 2 vases of tulips in our apartment, a block of gouda in the fridge and chocolate sprinkles in our pantry to put on the bread. Having said that, I'm certainly craving a bowl of fabulous spicy laksa. Haven't yet found any places here that sell it, will have to live in my dreams in the meantime.
Today we went to the Phillips Stadium in Eindhoven, home of the football team PSV Eindhoven. We had a tour of the grounds, including the glam corporate areas and even the changing rooms. The PSV players were entering the changing room for a training session as we were doing our tour so we got up close and personal with them. We were about a metre away from a player, Patrick Kluivert, apparently he's a legend in the football world. Quite a spunk, really!! Then we watched the team train. The fan club were there and letting of flares and fireworks during the training session. Was really cool!!
Bye for now.

hello! maybe i am the first to make a comment. How excitement. Lyds & Paul - glad you have arrived safely - completely unsurprising that most of your stories to date involve FOOD (ah yes, the sprinkles). Keep up the news. love kat
